The leader returns home. FutureNet Śląsk Wrocław vs. Elektrobud ZB Pruszków

10 January 2019

Time to return home! On Saturday, January 11, FutureNet Śląsk Wrocław will face Elektrobud-Investment ZB Pruszków in the first home game of the year.

The second part of the season has already started, and FutureNet Śląsk Wrocław launched it with victory over KKS Kutno. Thanks to this, the team from Wroclaw returned to the leader’s chair. But rivals aren’t sleeping, and the advantage of FutureNet Śląsk is not high. That’s why the team led by coach Radosław Hyży can’t slow down the pace.

The first rival who will check the form of FutureNet Śląsk on its home ground in 2019 will be Elektrobud-Investment ZB Pruszków. A few months ago, when these teams faced for the first time, FutureNet Śląsk won clearly 81:56. It was a significant game of Karol Michałek (10 points, 13 rebounds). He was strongly supported by Aleksander Leńczuk (18 points) and Jakub Musiał (14 points). The team from Wroclaw was almost perfect in this match, except for a little weakness in the battle for rebounds. The team from Pruszków is not composed of many tall players, but despite this Elektrobud-Investment ZB in this match had 21 offensive rebounds which is a good number. The weakness of his team was noticed by Radosław Hyży, the coach of FutureNet Śląsk.

In the following months, a gap between FutureNet Śląsk and Elektrobud-Investment ZB Pruszków was still growing. The team from Wrocław leads in the league while its closest rival from Pruszków is 14th out of 16 teams. It won only 6 out of 16 matches, including only one win in away game. Elektrobud-Investment plays weakly in the offence (with 69 points per game on average, with rivals scoring 73), poorly shoots for 3 points (only 31% of effectiveness) and poorly shares the ball (15 assists per match).

At Elektrobud-Investment ZB Pruszków, the best player is definitely the shooting guard Karol Kamiński. With an average of 16.6 points per game, he’s currently the 5th marksman in the league, and he adds also an average of 3.4 assists. The teams has other strong points: power forwards Mateusz Szwed (12 points and 11.4 rebounds in the match) and Robert Cetnar (10.5 points and 5.4 rebounds in the match). However, this team has too many weak sides, and FutureNet Śląsk is distinguished by a strong and even squad. Therefore, it seems that in Wrocław the guests team will not create any serious danger for FutureNet Śląsk.
