11 February 2019
It will be a HOT match! On Wednesday, February 13, FutureNet Śląsk Wrocław will play away match with Górnik Trans.eu Wałbrzych. This will be the great derby of Lower Silesia district in Poland, and also a game that will burn the fans’ emotions.
The Aqua Zdrój sports hall in Wałbrzych, Poland is a place where rivals always have a hard time. Górnik’s players can always count on their fans that they will make life difficult for the guests’ team by loud cheering. Especially in the match against FutureNet Śląsk Wrocław. In November 2018, we saw it in the AWF sports hall in Wrocław when both teams clashed for the first time this season. FutureNet Śląsk won 91:78, and for 40 minutes the fans of both teams created an amazing atmosphere around the pitch.
On Wednesday, February 13, both teams will face each other again, this time in Wałbrzych. FutureNet Śląsk players must be aware Aqua Zdrój hall will be very loud and the pressure will rise to a very high level. It’s also worth to be pointed out that Górnik Trans.eu is now in trouble. The team led by coach Marcin Radomski wants to advance to the playoff round, but if the season ended today, this goal wouldn’t have been achieved. “The Miners” have 33 points and are on the 9th place in the table. Elektrobud-Investment ZB Pruszków has one point less, and Pogoń Prudnik trails by 2 points. The fight for a place in the playoff is very even, and everybody has to win as many games as possible and overtake other teams. However, Górnik Trans.eu has a very difficult rival in front of him, because FutureNet Śląsk is the leader of the league and has a very strong, balanced line-up.
This season, Górnik Trans.eu has two leaders on board. The first one is centre Piotr Niedźwiedzki. He guarantees points (almost 19 per game on average) and rebounds (over 10 per game), as well as a good defence (over 2 blocks per game), statistically he’s currently the leader in the league. On Wednesday, he will clash with another league star, power forward Aleksander Dziewa from FutureNet Śląsk, and there will be a lot of hard fighting under the rim.
The second core player of the team is the point guard Hubert Kruszczyński, who plays his first season in the 1st league, but despite the lack of experience, he’s doing very well. Kruszczyński scores 12 points on average, also has 3 rebounds and 4,5 assists per match. That numbers deserve respect. A few weeks ago, the experienced forward Grzegorz Małecki (almost 10 points and over 3 rebounds per game) joined Górnik to add a little bit of shooting power and strength to the team. The experienced point guard Rafał Glapiński also gives the team a lot – he scores over 6 points this season and gives 3 assists per game. In addition, during his long career he played 423 matches for Górnik, and if he plays with FutureNet Śląsk – he will become the all-time leader in the club’s history. The Kruszczyński-Glapiński duet will have a very difficult rival on Wednesday: Robert Skibniewski and Norbert Kulon. They are currently the leaders of FutureNet Śląsk, as very experienced and effective players who can make a lot of difference on the pitch.
The match between FutureNet Śląsk and Górnik Trans.eu Wałbrzych will have many additional contexts. The team from Wrocław will be the favorite, as the leader of the league and the team with a very strong, balanced both starting 5 and the bench. But the hosts who still have to fight for the spot in the play off round will definitely do everything to win this match. It promises the outstanding game in Wałbrzych!
